\nHang on, post-Bolt era? Did you want to be the first one to write this article, Scott? We've still got 3 more years of this guy! I think there are athletes we haven't even heard of who can come out of the woodwork in that amount of time. I'm going to call this conversation premature.

\nHaha. Kevin, I assume you read the whole article, and saw my points about those leading the sport needing to think about where the sport needs to be in three years, which is having more than one star and a well thought out plan for the quadrennial after that. Our sport lacks organized vision of what it can become and Bolt announcing he is done after 2016 should be a wake up call that the sport can ride its ONE international star for only so much longer. And...while another superstar or two may appear in the coming 3-4 years, the time starts now to start building those potential stars' profiles. Look at cycling as an example. Lance Armstrong dominated the sport for nearly a decade. He goes away and there are zero well-known stars in the sport. Golf is doing a very good job of developing young stars to have a more international presence. T&F needs to do the same.","date_added":"Sep 10th 2013, 2:20pm","nest":0,"liked":false,"member":[],"can_delete":false,"item_id":175778,"item_type":"news","pb_image":"\/\/www.runnerspace.com\/forum\/uploads\/av-1111.jpg","pb_title":"Scott Bush","pb_url":"profile.php?member_id=1111","pb_url_dns":"https:\/\/Scott-Bush.runnerspace.com\/","pb_wally_id":"624"},"852611":{"pb_id":"6","pb_type":"members","likes":"0","parent_id":"0","pid":"852611","comment_id":"852611","member_id":"6","comment":"Hang on, post-Bolt era? And I think he's a significant addition because within a year, he went from barely elite to a household name. For whatever reason, the sport is only able to truly highlight one or two sprint stars at a time. With Bolt nearing the end of the line, I suspect a few up and comers will see the potential to step into the limelight prior to Rio.
