Torrence Smashes Record in Boston

At the BU Last Chance Meet on Sunday, March 2, David Torrence broke the American 1,000m indoor record, besting Canadian rival Nate Brannen, on his way to running 2:16.76. Torrence's mark eclipsed the former record of 2:17.86, set by David Krummenacker in January of 2002. Brannen's runner-up time of 2:16.87 broke the Canadian record in the event.
