Double Olympic champion Adams is among the most unbackable of favourites in Glasgow and will pocket a third successive gold unless something goes terribly wrong. She virtually admitted as much by agreeing to interrupt her training schedule to carry New Zealand's flag at the opening ceremony in Glasgow on Wednesday. Adams, 29, is using numbers to keep herself motivated ahead of the final on Wednesday. She wants to better her own Games record of 20.47m, set in Delhi four years ago.
