David Storl Knee Surgery Went Well

Shot put World and European Champion David Storl has been successfully operated on his left knee. “The surgey went great. Today I’m really relaxed. We have been going back home to Chemnitz,” said the 24-year-old the new agency dpa.

The surgery on the patellar tendon lasted about an hour. Inflamed tissue has been removed. “All right,” said Storl, “the knee is still a bit swollen, but I have no pain”.

Five days before the long-planned operation of the shot put start, Storl was still shining at the Continental Cup in Marrakech (Morocco) with 21.55m.
