True finished third in the race at the KBC Night of Athletics, finishing behind Dejen Gebremeskel (13:05:38) and Bashir Abdi (13:06.10). True finished second in the 5,000 at the U.S. championships in Eugene, Oregon, on June 28, assuring that if he ran the qualifying standard of 13:23 by the Aug. 9 deadline he would make the U.S. team for the world championships.
