DWAIN Chambers has admitted defeat in his quest to overturn his lifetime Olympic ban and compete at London 2012. Having tested positive for banned steroid THG in 2003, the much-maligned 100m sprinter served his two-year ban and bounced back to athletics last year by becoming the only European to reach the World Championships final in August. As a result of his drugs ban, Chambers is prohibited from competing at the Olympics by a BOA bye-law - legislation he challenged in 2008, only to see the High Court side with the BOA - one of only a handful of national Olympic associations to adopt such a stance against drugs cheats. The Brit refused to give up hope however, with a Middle East nation reportedly attempting to convince him to switch nationalities earlier this year.
