Former elite runner Melissa Rock is running the Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon to raise money for her daughters orphanage in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Melissa and her husband Andrew have been waiting for restrictions to be lifted so that they can bring their adopted daughter, Tina, home. Through running the marathon, she hopes to raise awareness and money to provide food and other necessities for the children at the orphanage.
