NOTE that Canadian athlete Priscilla Lopes-Schliep appears to have DELIBERATELY generated the false start in this race.

Observe that after all the girls rose up into the set positon, she flinched really hard, then waited for someone else to react to her movement with a false start. After ALL the other hurdlers had cleared their blocks and she heard the restart gun go off, she "pretended" to clear her blocks also. (She's not a very good actress.)

Because her feet never cleared the blocks when she flinched, she was not charged with the false start, and it was assigned to the field instead. This tactic is not illegal, but definitely not good sportsmanship, either. Damu Cherry and Michelle Perry were not at fault here.

Coaches, please rewind this clip and it study a few times, then reply and COMMENT with your thoughts and opinions. Am I being too harsh or judgemental? (We all know what a legitimate "flinch" looks like.) The athletes I train know they won't get rewarded for this type of behavior.

Thank you.
