TrackTown Tuesday Series Announced for 2013

First event is set for Tuesday, January 8

EUGENE, Ore. – (January 4, 2013) – In anticipation of a promising track and field season that will culminate with the 2013 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Historic Hayward Field this June, a fantastic TrackTown Tuesday series is planned for 2013.

University of Oregon Associate Athletic Director of Olympic Development Vin Lananna will serve as the series’ Master of Ceremonies; and special guests will include athletes and coaches from Oregon’s championship-winning Track & Field and Cross Country teams, in addition to Olympic stars and world-class athletes and coaches from the Oregon Track Club Elite.

“TrackTown USA is a special community with a very unique and close connection between the athletes and fans,” Lananna said. “We’re thrilled that every month we have the opportunity to provide our outstanding fans with the opportunity to hear from and interact with the talented coaches and athletes. We hope everyone will join in with this great event kicking off next Tuesday.”

The 2012 TrackTown Tuesday series was the biggest and most well-attended in its short history, and the 2013 season will build upon that energy, beginning with the first event on Tuesday, January 8 at 7 p.m. at Lewis and Clark Catering (located at 2210 Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard).

In addition, to build excitement for a jam-packed week of action at Hayward Field from June 1-8 – with the Prefontaine Classic set for June 1, and the NCAA Championships going from June 5-8, two TrackTown Tuesday events are scheduled in the month of May. The final event of the season will be on June 11.
