5-MINUTE INTERVIEW: Ineta Radevica

Following her gold medal win at the 2010 European Athletics Championships in Barcelona, Latvia’s Ineta Radevica has become one of the growing breed of athletes who have come back after motherhood to get an international title. However it was the triple jump in which she first made her name, winning American collegiate (NCAA) titles in 2003 and 2004 while at the University of Nebraska studying economics. European Athletics spoke to her at the recent IAAF Continental Cup.

If I wasn’t doing this now I’d be ... playing at home with my son.

My ideal night out is … going to the movies and maybe for a bite to eat.

In moments of weakness, I … open a diary I kept when I was pregnant and read it.

The best age to be is … now.

The best bit of my body is … all of it!

The worst bit is … my ears.

The most surprising thing that ever happened to me was … winning a live chicken in a lottery when I was a kid. I had to carry it home!
