USA Track & Field invites its Annual Meeting attendees to celebrate the organization’s storied 30 year history.

The 1979 Ted Stevens Amateur Sports Act mandated the creation of the U.S. Olympic Committee and National Governing Bodies of Olympic sports. Literally with the stroke of a pen, the Athletic Congress/USA (TAC) was born. In 1980, TAC held its first stand-alone Annual Meeting in Atlanta, Georgia. Thirteen years later, the name “USA Track & Field” was adopted to increase the sport’s recognition within the United States. The brand building continued in 2007 with the introduction of USATF’s winged logo, developed to represent the organization’s continued quest for excellence, achievement and victory.

Whether you are training on the track or roads, cheering in the stands, or working behind a desk, it is time for all valued contributors to relish in our outstanding accomplishments over the past 30 years. To mark the celebration, USATF is rewinding back to our beginning, the ‘70s.  TAC is back!  Pick-up some retro apparel from the 1979 USATF Collection.

Be sure to bring your Visa card and extra luggage (or plan to buy the newly released USATF/Nike roller bag) so you can take full advantage of USATF’s Annual Meeting merchandise warehouse sale. Look forward to special moments and surprises in Virginia Beach.
