Robles of Cuba, the reigning Olympic champion, is the World record holder in the event at 12.87, and set the stadium record of 12.91 just prior to his Olympic triumph in Beijing. Oliver, the U.S. record holder at 12.89, is history's third fastest man.

"This duel is a gem in an already star-packed competition," said Meeting director Rajne Söderberg. "Robles set the stadium record in 2008 with 12.91 and missed the world record by three hundred of a second. Oliver is eager to leave Stockholm with a record and a 1 carat diamond."

The two rivals most recently met at the Samsung Diamond League race in Paris. Underscoring how close the pair are, both clocked 13.09 in a virtual dead heat, with Robles winning by the narrowest of margins.
