Prefontaine Classic director says it’s “promising” a Kenyan Olympic Trials race could be held at Hayward Field

It appears that more than one Olympic Trials will be held at Hayward Field this June.

According to Prefontaine Classic meet director Tom Jordan, it looks “promising” that Athletics Kenya will stage its men’s and women’s 10,000-meter Olympic trials during the 38th annual Prefontaine Classic in Eugene.

“Nothing has been confirmed yet,” Jordan said. “But the (Kenyan) men’s and women’s 10K are promising.”

The 10,000-meter races would be part of an expanded evening program of Pre Classic events on Friday, June 1. The main portion of the Diamond League event will be held Saturday, June 2 at Hayward Field.
