US-born sprinter Shana Cox is currently in the process of seeking a British passport as the British women’s 4x400m team appears to go from strength to strength. Cox, the 2008 NCAA 400m champion, would be a useful addition to a GB squad that UKA head coach Charles van Commenee believes can challenge for global medals, although it may take some time for her nationality switch to be finalised. The Penn State student has dual citizenship as her parents were both born in Britain, as was her brother Adrian, a 10.50 sprinter. “Since most of my family is still in Great Britain, it was a no-brainer for me,“ she said.
